After the machine leaves

Nobody looks at the ground work once the house is standing. That’s the point.

Done wrong, a pad settles and water sits against the foundation. Done right, you never think about it again. That’s the result we achieve every time.

Why people hire us

A small outfit that answers the phone

You won’t get handed off to an estimator or a call center. Everything we tell you about the company can be checked with the state before you hire us.

Owners on the machine

You talk to the owners

Logan and Kenny own the company. The person who looks at your site is the person doing the work, so nothing gets lost between an estimator and a crew.

Access first

The way in gets planned

A lot of site problems start before any dirt moves, like a machine too big for the driveway or nowhere to pile the spoils. We work that out with you up front.

Clear numbers

No surprise invoices

You get told what the work involves, what we’re unsure about and what would change the number. If something turns up mid job, you hear about it before it turns up on an invoice.

Property respected

Gates shut, ruts fixed

Gates get shut, ruts get repaired, and material doesn’t get left where it will bother you or your neighbors. We’d rather spend the extra hour than leave a mess behind us.

Where we work

Every town is different ground

Each core sample shows the kind of ground you hit there, from the notes on that town’s page. The dashed line is frost depth.

Chelan County

Chelan, WA

Chelan is home. It’s also where a lot of the hardest ground in the valley is, and most of what makes a job here difficult shows up before the first bucket of dirt moves.

See what’s under it

Chelan County

Manson, WA

Manson sits on the benchland along the north shore, and a lot of the ground there has been orchard at some point. That changes what’s under the surface.

See what’s under it

Chelan County

Entiat, WA

Entiat runs from the Columbia back up a narrow river valley, and properties up that valley tend to be long on ground and short on easy access.

See what’s under it

Chelan County

Wenatchee, WA

Wenatchee mixes town lots with orchard and acreage on the edges, and the two need very different approaches on the ground.

See what’s under it

Chelan County

Cashmere, WA

Cashmere, Monitor and Dryden sit on the Wenatchee River bottom. Bedrock is a hundred feet down, so the digging problems come from what the river and the floods left on top of it.

See what’s under it

Chelan County

Leavenworth, WA

Leavenworth, Peshastin, Plain and Lake Wenatchee sit on some of the deepest loose ground in the state. The boulders mixed through it are what make jobs there hard.

See what’s under it

Okanogan County

Methow Valley, WA

The Methow is cobble and boulder country. Twisp, Winthrop, Carlton and Mazama all sit on it, and it’s the reason a trencher is usually the wrong tool up here.

See what’s under it

Okanogan County

Omak and Okanogan, WA

Omak and Okanogan sit on stacked glacial lake terraces. Which terrace you’re on decides what the job actually is.

See what’s under it

Okanogan County

Brewster, WA

Brewster, Bridgeport and Pateros sit on the Great Terrace of the Columbia. It’s layered, inconsistent ground that was stacked up against a wall of ice, and no two digs there go the same way.

See what’s under it

Grant County

Quincy, WA

Quincy sits on the floor of the Quincy Basin, on Ice Age flood gravel over basalt. Caliche and sand are the two things that catch people out here.

See what’s under it

Douglas County

Waterville, WA

The Waterville Plateau is easy ground to work on top of and hard ground to dig into, because of what sits about two feet down.

Moving equipment costs the same for a small job as a big one. Call and describe it. If the drive doesn’t make sense for a job that size, we’ll say so on the phone.

Questions

Before you call

Can you handle my job?

Most residential and small commercial ground work, yes: site prep, foundations, driveways, trenching, drainage, clearing and walls. If a job needs a bigger machine or a specialty crew, we tell you on the first call so you’re not left waiting on us.

How much does excavation cost around Chelan?

It depends on access, how much material has to move, what’s under the surface and whether spoils stay on site or get hauled off. After a site visit you get a written scope and price. How an estimate works explains what changes a number.

Will your equipment tear up my yard?

We walk the way in with you first and agree what has to be protected. The machine runs on rubber tracks, which are easier on lawn and pavement than steel. Soft or wet ground can still take marks, so any ruts we make get fixed before we leave.

Who calls 811 before you dig?

We do, before we open ground. It’s the law in Washington and it’s free. Private lines like irrigation, septic or power to a shop aren’t marked by 811, so tell us what you know.

What towns do you work in?

Chelan, Manson, Entiat and Wenatchee most days, and out to Cashmere, Leavenworth, the Methow Valley, Omak and Okanogan, Brewster, Quincy and Waterville.
