The machine
Sized for residential access
This work is done with our Kubota U55-5 compact excavator: 6 ft 5 in wide on rubber tracks, 11 ft 11 in dig depth and 19 ft 7 in of reach. It fits most driveways and side yards a bigger machine can’t, and it’s easier on the ground getting there.

Can you get equipment into a steep or narrow property?
Often, but it’s worth checking before anyone books a day. Send a photo or a video of the way in, showing the pinch points, the grade and any gates or overhead lines, and we’ll let you know whether it works and what size machine it takes.
Why does my driveway keep washing out?
Almost always water. Either the surface is flat or dished instead of crowned, or there’s nowhere for runoff to go once it gets on there. Fixing the shape and the ditching usually matters more than adding another load of rock.
What’s base rock and why does it matter?
Base rock is crushed rock with a range of sizes that locks together when compacted. It carries the load. The finer top layer is what you see, and it only lasts if the base under it is right.
