A Chelan company doing ground work
Backcountry Excavation is a Chelan company, owned and run by Logan Oules and Kenny Reeves. It is registered with Washington State as a general construction contractor, bonded and insured, and everything on that record is public and checkable.
The work is ground work: clearing, cutting, shaping and draining the dirt so that whatever goes on top of it has something solid underneath. Site prep through to finish grade, driveways and access roads, utility trenching, septic excavation and demolition.
What you get here is a small, owner-run outfit. You talk to the people running the machines, you get told plainly what a job involves, and you hear about problems while there is still time to do something about them.
From first call to final walkthrough
Nothing clever, just the order that keeps a job from going sideways.
-
You call or send us the details. We ask enough questions to work out whether it is something we should be taking on.
-
We come and look at the site. Access, ground conditions and where water goes tell us more in ten minutes than a description does in an hour.
-
You get a clear scope and a price, in writing, with anything uncertain named as uncertain rather than buried.
-
We agree on timing, and you know what needs to be sorted on your side before we roll in: access, locates, approvals, materials.
-
The work gets done, and you hear from us if anything changes. Nothing new appears on the invoice that you have not already been told about.
-
We walk the site with you at the end, tidy up what needs tidying, and leave the ground the way we said we would.
How we keep a site safe
No slogans here, just the basics that matter on any excavation, and that we are not willing to skip to save an hour.
- Utility locates are called before ground is opened. It is the law in Washington, it is free, and it is not worth skipping.
- Open excavations and trenches get treated as the hazard they are, for everyone on the site and everyone living on it.
- The site gets left secure at the end of the day, which matters more when there are kids, stock or neighbors nearby.
- If conditions change, whether that is weather, ground or something we did not expect, we stop and talk about it rather than push on.
